Best known for its leadership in retail development, General Growth Properties also leads in the development of master planned communities, including residential, commercial, office and other mixed-use properties. The five largest master planned communities in which GGP has an ownership interest contain a combined total of 118 square miles and offer beautiful homes of all styles with access to ample parks, trails, lakes, wooded areas and recreation. Under the master plan of each community, they will feature vibrant central gathering places with offices, retail, civic space, restaurants, theaters, hotels and other amenities. Thus, they allow people to work, play and shop in close proximity to where they live, creating environmentally-friendly antidotes to urban sprawl.
